Deals & Discounts

Hello again, everyone! At the height of the blog-o-sphere, one of the critical components for a runblogger was to have a deals and discounts page. Doesn’t 2011 look quaint? As the world evolved, and I evolved, so the blog evolves… I anticipate I may still want a place to promote races and discounts, especially on behalf of my friends serving as race ambassadors. If you’re looking for the robust resource that existed in 2011…you’re out of luck (as are many of the local race companies that didn’t survive the 2020s global COVID-19 pandemic).

The information on this page is current and correct as of the time it was added. If you find a broken link, or discover an expired code, please shoot me an email.

Discount code policy: (1) Are you an ambassador or promoter for a race? I would love to share your discount code! (2) I will absolutely not post codes that were intended for use only by a specific club (e.g. Marathon Maniacs, 100 Half Marathons Club) because that is not cool. (3) Discount codes may be removed from this page at the request of the race director and WILL be removed if discovered to be club-specific codes.

Need Help Choosing Races?

Alphabetical by name. No endorsement is intended or implied. It’s a busy, crazy race world out there; I’m offering these merely as ways to cut through the noise.

BibRave. https://www.bibrave.com Reviews written by runners. BibRave also has a massive team of runners who are promoters for various races (and they are supposed to disclose when they ran a race for free in exchange for promoting it in their review–as ALL runners with a comped/free entry should be doing). The team also reviews products, often sharing a temporary/limited use discount. Hosts of #BibChat. Focused on running only.

Race Advisors. https://www.raceadvisors.com Reviews written by race participants. Race Advisors has a team of ambassadors, but to my knowledge their job is to promote Race Advisors, not to promote specific races. Unlike many other sites, Race Advisors includes running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, duathlon, and paddling races.

Race Grader. https://racegrader.com/ Reviews written by race participants. Race Grader is focused entirely on southern California. It covers all manner of races (running, cycling, triathlon, etc.). If you live in southern California and are not subscribed to their email, you are missing out.

Race Raves. https://raceraves.com/ Reviews written by race participants. Race Raves partners with races to promote them; you may have seen races that have a raffle to win a free entry for next year, and to enter you have to write a review on Race Raves. Race Raves also has a free “Staging Area” where you can track your races.

Sweat Tracker. https://www.sweattracker.com Unlike the other sites in this section, this is not a race review site. Sweat Tracker is primarily a coaching and training service, though it also hosts the most comprehensive listing for races in California listed first by region (Northern v. Southern), then by date. Find one they are missing and they will send you free swag!
